SIA Door Supervisor Refresher Course
Refresher training is available to all Door Supervisor and Security Guard Licence holders looking to renew their licence. From April 2025, all Door Supervisors looking to renew their licence must have completed the refresher qualification.
Until 31 March 2025
Door Supervisors who have an old, pre-April 2021 qualification will need to have completed either the top-up training or refresher training before they apply to renew their licence.

First Aid Training Requirement for SIA Licence Renewal
Before taking the refresher training, you must have an up-to-date Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or equivalent. Please book emergency first aid and door supervisor refresher training as both must be completed to renew your sia licence.
Notice:
You must have an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification before they can take the refresher training. Book your SIA Door Supervisor Refresher Training to meet the April 2025 deadline.
Who Needs to Complete the SIA Refresher Training?
If you hold an SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard Licence, you are required to complete the SIA Refresher Course before submitting your licence renewal application. This requirement applies to:
- Door Supervisors renewing their SIA licence from 1 April 2025 onwards.
- Security Guards who must complete refresher training before renewing their licence.
- Licence holders with qualifications obtained before April 2021 who have not yet undertaken the SIA Top-Up Training.
⚠️ Failure to complete the required refresher training before applying for renewal may result in delays or rejection of your SIA licence application.

Who needs to complete the SIA Licence Renewal Course?
If you hold an SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard Licence and need to renew it after 1 April 2025, you must complete the mandatory refresher training before applying for renewal.
How can I book and pay for the course?
You book and pay using your credit card or debit card securely online or over the phone. You can also pay via bank transfer. Please contact us if you would like to make the payment via bank transfer.

When will I receive my examination result?
Results are published online within 10-14 working days after your examination date. You will be notified by SMS and email when they are ready to view – in the rare case your results are delayed, we will always keep you informed.
What is the minimum Age Requirement ?
The minimum age requirement is 18.
When will I receive my certificate?
Certificates are usually dispatched 10-14 days after successful course completion. Please contact us – if it has been over 14 days so we can verify your address and arrange for a replacement.
Please note, you don’t need a certificate to apply for your SIA Licence.

I want to renew my License as a Security Guard, is this course right for me?
Yes, you would need an SIA Refresher Training to renew your Door Supervisor Licence to allows you to work as a Security Guard and a Door Supervisor.
That means – you can work in retail security, nightclubs and events with a Door Supervisor Licence.
What ID documents do I have to bring along?
It is a regulatory requirement to do an identity check for all security-related qualifications. Therefore, candidates who are attending Licence linked course are requested to provide the following upon arrival;
- Two passport size photos
- Original passport of any nationality or UK photo Drivers Licence
- Two forms of address proof (originals)

Note: You will not be able to sit the exam if you do not have the correct ID Documents. (Government Requirement)
I have not received the booking confirmation email

What if my course is cancelled?
We hate it when training providers have to cancel a course – but it can happen for reasons outside our control. If your course is cancelled – we will offer you an alternate date, if that date is not suitable, we will offer you an instant refund.
Does the course fee include the SIA Licence application fee?
The course fee does not include the licence fee. The licence application fee of £220 is payable to directly to the SIA when applying for the licence – which is valid for three years.
