What Is First Aid?
First aid is the first and immediate assistance given to any person suffering from either a minor or serious illness or injury. The purpose of first aid is to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery. It includes performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for an ambulance or medical help to arrive, as well as the complete treatment of minor conditions, such as applying a plaster to a cut.
Who is the First Aid course for?
First Aid Course is compulsory if you want to work as a security officer, or if you want to teach first aid as a trainer.
- Emergency First Aid 1 Day Course is for Security Officers.
- First Aid At Work 2 day course is ideal for trainers, and workers.
Do you need first aid training for the SIA Licence?
Yes, the SIA has announced that from April 1st, 2021, you must complete a first aid qualification to apply for your SIA License.
Do I need a first aid certificate to renew my SIA Licence?
Yes, you must complete a “Top-Up” Training course to renew your SIA License after October 1, 2021.
What Level Of First Aid Do I Need For SIA Licence?
To obtain an SIA License, you must complete the 1-Day Emergency First Aid At Work course, which costs £120. This course is compulsory for you to complete to apply for an SIA Licence.

First Aid at Work has been designed for candidates to achieve a nationally recognised award in First Aid. The course is designed to train individuals up to the standard by the Health and Safety Executive for the purpose of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Who is this course for?
- Emergency First Aid 1 day course is for individuals wishing to obtain the SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- First Aid At Work 2 day course is ideal for trainers, and those who wish to teach the Emergency First Aid course.
How can I book and pay for the course?
You book and pay using your credit card or debit card securely online or over the phone. You can also pay via bank transfer. Please contact us if you would like to make the payment via bank transfer.

When will I receive my examination result?
Results are published online within 10-14 working days after your examination date. You will be notified by SMS and email when they are ready to view – in the rare case your results are delayed, we will always keep you informed.
When will I receive my certificate?
Certificates are usually dispatched 7 days after successful course completion. Please contact us – if it has been over 14 days so we can verify your address and arrange for a replacement.
Please note, you don’t need a certificate to apply for your SIA Licence.
What is the minimum Age Requirement ?
The minimum age requirement is 18.

Do I need FIrst Aid Certificate to apply for SIA Licence?
Yes, you do need a First Aid certificate to apply for the SIA Licence. Your details are passed on to the SIA when you pass the course.
I want to work as a Security Guard, is this course right for me?
Yes, you will need the First Aid Course certificate for Door Supervisor Licence allows you to work as a Security Guard and a Door Supervisor.
That means – you can work in retail security, nightclubs and events with a Door Supervisor Licence.
What ID documents do I have to bring along?
It is a regulatory requirement to do an identity check for all security-related qualifications. Therefore, candidates who are attending Licence linked course are requested to provide the following upon arrival;
- Two passport size photos
- Original passport of any nationality or UK photo Drivers Licence
- Two forms of address proof (originals)

Note: You will not be able to sit the exam if you do not have the correct ID Documents. (Government Requirement)
I have not received the booking confirmation email

What if my course is cancelled?
We hate it when training providers have to cancel a course – but it can happen for reasons outside our control. If your course is cancelled – we will offer you an alternate date, if that date is not suitable, we will offer you an instant refund.
When can I apply for my SIA License?
You can apply for your SIA License as soon as you have passed your course. For more information watch the full video
Does the course fee include the SIA Licence application fee?
The course fee does not include the licence fee. The licence application fee of £220 is payable to directly to the SIA when applying for the licence – which is valid for three years.
