SIA Door Supervisor Refresher Training – Course Content

Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor (Refresher)

• Search Procedures – Ensuring lawful and effective searches.
• Protecting Vulnerable Individuals – Safeguarding public safety.
• Counter-Terrorism & Threat Awareness – Recognising and managing security threats.
• Preventing Spiking Incidents – Understanding and preventing drink spiking in licensed premises.

Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (35 questions, 55 minutes).
• Practical assessment – Conducting a security search.

Unit 2: Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher)

• Understanding Risks in Physical Intervention – Minimising the risks of forceful action.
• Self-Protection & Conflict Management – Techniques to defuse and manage conflicts safely.
• Safe Escorting & Holding Methods – Using non-pain compliant restraint techniques.

Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (30 questions, 45 minutes).
• Practical assessment – Demonstrating safe intervention techniques.
• Oral Q&A to assess understanding.

SIA Security Guard Refresher Training – Course Content

Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Security Officer (Refresher)

• Search Procedures – Conducting effective and lawful security searches.
• Vulnerability Awareness – Keeping vulnerable people safe in security environments.
• Counter-Terrorism Awareness – Recognising and responding to terror threats.

Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (28 questions, 45 minutes).
• Practical assessment – Demonstrating security search procedures.

Renewing Your SIA Licence: Training Options

If you hold an SIA Door Supervisor Licence, you have two renewal options:

✅ Option 1: Complete the Door Supervisor Refresher Training and renew your current Door Supervisor Licence.
✅ Option 2: Complete the Security Guard Refresher Training and transition to an SIA Security Guard Licence.
