SIA Security Guard Course (4 days)

The SIA Security Guard Course will be delivered in a 4-day class from 9 a.m. to 18:00. It will also include an emergency first aid course. Both the SIA Security Guard Course and the emergency first aid course are required to apply for an SIA Security Guard licence. 

We run this SIA Security Guard course every week. At the end of the course, there will be 3 multiple-choice examinations. Once you place your order, we will contact you with additional information and all the requirements you need to bring on your first day.

Level 2: National Certificate for SIA Security Guard Course 4 Days (SIA-Approved) £270

To get an SIA Security Guard Course license, you must attend a four-part training course and pass four exams. The course may be delivered in 4 days. (SIA requires a minimum of 55 hours of Class for this course; without completing 55 hours, your certificate may be invalidated.) We run this door supervisor course every week; at the end of the course, there will be an examination.

Please note that Emergency First Aid Training is compulsory. If you have not completed it already, please include it. 

How long is the training course?
It has been designed to be completed in 4 Days (although more extended tuition or self-study options may be available).

What documents do I need to bring with me?

First, you must bring Identification documents such as a Passport or driver’s licence as proof of ID. Secondly, you must provide two proof of address HMRC letters, Tax bills, utility bills, bank statements, etc. Finally, you must also bring two passport-size photographs.

Entry Requirements: You must have an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate or completion evidence, and you must be over 18

What to Expect from an SIA Security Guard Course Exam

On the final day of your course, there will be three multiple-choice exams and a practical assessment. Everything you need to know is covered in the SIA Security Guard Course, and your training instructor will fully prepare you for success. Furthermore, you will receive mock exam papers to help you prepare for the exams.

The SIA Security Guard Course will cover the topics below and include an assessment at the end of the week.

Level 2: SIA Security Guard Course + Emergency First Aid £270

Content:

Unit 1: Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry

  1. Know the main characteristics and purposes of the Private Security Industry.
  2. Understand legislation as it applies to a security operative
  3. Understand arrest procedures relevant to security operatives
  4. Understand the importance of safe working practices
  5. Understand fire procedures in the workplace
  6. Understand emergencies and the importance of emergency procedures
  7. Understand how to communicate effectively as a security operative
  8. Understand record-keeping relevant to the role of the security operative
  9. Understand terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat
  10. Understand how to keep vulnerable people safe
  11. Understand good practices for post-incident management

Unit 2: Principles of Working as a Security Officer In The Private Security Industry

  1. Understand the roles and responsibilities of security officers
  2. Understand the control of access and egress.
  3. Know the different electronic and physical protection systems in the security environment.
  4. Know how to minimise risk to personal safety at work.
  5. Understand drug-misuse legislation, issues and procedures relevant to the role of a security officer.
  6. Know how to conduct effective search procedures.
  7. Understand how to patrol designated areas safely.

Unit 3: Application of Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry

  1. Understand the principles of conflict management appropriate to the role
  2. Understand how to recognise, assess and reduce risk in conflict situations
  3. Understand the use of problem-solving techniques when resolving conflict
  4. Be able to communicate to deescalate conflict

On the final day of your course, there will be 3 multiple-choice exams and a practical assessment. Everything you need to know is covered in the SIA Security Guard Course, and your training instructor will fully prepare you for success. Furthermore, you will receive mock exam papers to help you prepare for the exams.
