SIA Top-Up Refresher + First Aid Course – Whitechapel

From 1 April 2025, all SIA Door Supervisors and Security Guards must complete an SIA Refresher Training Course before renewing their licence. This course ensures that security professionals stay updated with the latest industry standards, best practices, and legal requirements.

Who Needs This Course?

✅ Security Professionals with pre-April 2021 qualifications (must complete top-up or refresher training before 31 March 2025)

Course Details

Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor (Refresher)

✔️ Conducting effective security searches
✔️ Keeping vulnerable individuals safe
✔️ Recognising and responding to terror threats
✔️ Preventing spiking incidents in venues

📌 Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (35 questions, 55 minutes)
• Practical assessment: Conducting a search

Unit 2: Application of Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher)

✔️ Understanding risks related to physical intervention
✔️ Safe, non-pain compliant restraint and escorting techniques
✔️ Reducing risks when handling security incidents

📌 Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (30 questions, 45 minutes)
• Practical assessment of physical intervention techniques
• Oral Q&A session

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Requirement

Before attending the SIA Refresher Course, candidates must hold a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certification or an equivalent qualification.

To make it easier, we offer a combined package that includes both the SIA Refresher Course and Emergency First Aid Training, ensuring smooth licence renewal.
