What is SIA Top-up Training? 

SIA Top-up Training + First Aid Course is a compulsory Upskilling Training for Door Supervisors (2 days) and Security Guards (1 day) to renew your SIA licence.  This new SIA Top Up Training will up-skill Door Supervisors and Security Guards to the level attained by those who took a course and qualification after April 2021. This SIA Top Up Training Course Plus First Aid Course is compulsory for the SIA Renewal Security Badge.

SIA Top-Up Training First Aid Course ( 2 Days) £230

SIA Top Up Training First Aid Course, ‘Top-Up’ training / “Top Up Door Supervisor Refresher”. from 1 October 2021, the Security Industry Authority (SIA) is changing the way that Security Guard (SG) and Door Supervisor (DS) licenses are renewed. From this date, to renew your licence you must complete additional training.

What is SIA Top-Up Training First Aid? 

SIA Top-Up Training First Aid is compulsory additional training to renew your SIA license. SIA is changing the way that Security Guard and Door Supervisor Licences are renewed from the 1st of October. This new SIA Top Up Training will up-skill door supervisors to the level attained by those who took a course and qualification after August 2015.

Why do I need the SIA Top Up Training First Aid Course London for a Door Supervisor Licence? 

Completing the Top Up Door Supervisor training to renew your license will be compulsory. On 1 April 2021, the SIA introduced new critical safety elements to their licence holder qualifications.

This Top Up Door Supervisor Training is To ensure that current Door Supervisor and Security Guard licence holders have the same level of qualification as those who are newly qualified, the SIA has developed top-up training. Top-up Door Supervisor training will align the skills of those renewing licences with new licence holders since 1 April 2021, when the standards changed.

Do I need an SIA Top-up training course for a Security Guard licence as well? 

Yes, you will need an SIA Top-Up Training if you currently hold a Security Guard licence, which means you will need to attend top-up training. From 1 October 2021, you must have one of the following before you can apply for, or renew your licence:

  1. One of the new SIA Qualifications was set in place in April 2021.
  2. Or, one of the older licence-linked qualifications, a valid First-Aid certificate, and a Top-Up qualification.

What will the SIA Top Up Training First Aid course include?

Security Guard licence holders must attend one day of top-up training.

This Top Up training will include Terror Threat Awareness and Minimising Personal Risk for Security Officers. Part of the SIA changes also requires licence holders to have an Emergency First Aid Certificate. Before renewing your licence, you must either prove you have a minimum of 12 months before expiry on any current first aid certificate or you must attend an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification or equivalent, before attending any top-up training.

SIA – TOP-UP DOOR SUPERVISION COURSE CONSISTS OF THE FOLLOWING UNITS: 


Unit 1: Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry. 
Unit 2: Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry. 
Unit 3: Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry. 
 
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: 
Chapter 1: Understand counter-terrorism issues relevant to a door supervisor. 
Chapter 2: Know the role of a door supervisor when first aid situations occur in licensed premises. 
Chapter 3: Know how to use communication equipment relevant to a door supervisor. 
Chapter 4: Physical Intervention concept theory on how to keep venues and people safe.
 Chapter 5: Physical Intervention practical skills relevant to a door supervisor.
