Still, in order to check a person’s capability to work as a good security officer, candidates are assessed through examinations which are taken at the end of the courses. You can only apply for the SIA licence if you clear these examinations. The SIA then further processes your application for around 8 weeks and checks for your competency even more. If this part is also cleared, only then one can become a security officer in the UK.
