Award in Delivery of Conflict Management Level 3
Unit 1 –
Understanding the Principles of Conflict Management, assess and reduce the risk of violence in the work environment. Identify behaviour that indicates an escalation towards violence and take appropriate measures to avoid or calm and defuse the situation. Identify post incident support and report the circumstances to provide information for personal and organisational learning. Demonstrate their ability to apply knowledge and understanding of Conflict Management into a variety of practical settings.
Unit 2 –
Designing and delivering Conflict Management scenarios design relevant and effective scenarios for training in Conflict Management, deliver and debrief interactive and scenario based sessions in the context of Conflict Management training.
Award in Delivery of Physical Intervention Level 3
Unit 1 –
Knowledge: Assessment for the Knowledge element of this unit is by multiple choice question paper, which must be carried out under exam conditions and a full SIA Identification check completed.
Unit 2-
Demonstration of practical skills: This element is internally assessed by the centre and quality assured by IQ. Please see the guidance on delivery and assessment at the end of the unit. A learner observation assessment record is available at the end of this document.
Course assessment:
Delegates will be tasked to provide one written assignments and one presentation / Demonstration of the technique. Full tutor support will be provided during the learning phase.
Technical skills and under-pinning principles relating to physical intervention techniques. Delegates will be taught how to deliver a range of primary and secondary control skills, pressure point applications and control. Additional techniques such as balance displacement methods, muscular dysfunction tactics and breakaway methods will also be taught.

How many weeks do I have to make the Portfolio submissions?
Your course deadline, which is expected to be two weeks following the end of the course, will be provided by your instructor. Please take note of the deadline. Submitting your course portfolios after the deadline period will result in a fee of £300. Please ensure timely submission of your portfolios.
Can I Post My Portfolio submissions?
It is recommended that students hand-deliver their portfolios to the office for a chance to verify with the instructor if anything is missing. If you choose to post them, please make sure to thoroughly scan all documents and send them with a signed-for option that includes tracking details. It is important to keep a record of the tracking number for your records.
Should I scan my portfolio documents before posting?
Please ensure that all documents are scanned and retain a copy for your records.
What happens if I lose the forms given to me in the class by the tutor.
The forms, including the tutor observation, peer observation, and self-evaluations, are vital and it is essential to scan them right away and retain a copy for your records. Losing these documents will result in the need to repeat them, incurring additional fees.

When will I receive my certificate?
Please note, you don’t need a certificate to apply for your SIA Door Supervisor Licence or SIA CCTV Licence, your qualification will be uploaded under your name on your SIA Portal.
Once you pass, you can expect to receive your certificates within two weeks, but it may take longer for certain SIA qualifications, such as the SIA Door Supervisor Course, SIA Top Up Training Course, and SIA CCTV course. The Level 3 Delivery of Conflict Management and Delivery of Physical Intervention courses may take even longer due to additional EQA checks. For the AET Level 3, certificates typically arrive within three weeks of passing, but there have been instances where it has taken more than three months due to further checks by the awarding body.
I want to work as an SIA Instructor, is this course right for me?
Yes, the SIA Instructor Trainer Course allows you to work as an Instructor and teach the Door Supervisor Course.
What ID documents do I have to bring along?
It is a regulatory requirement to do an identity check for all security-related qualifications. Therefore, candidates who are attending Licence linked course are requested to provide the following upon arrival;
- Two passport size photos
- Original passport of any nationality or UK photo Drivers Licence
- Two forms of address proof (originals)

You will need to apply for an SIA Instructor license, which is renewed annually.
Is the SIA Instructor Licence Included?
No, all instructors need to get an instructor licence to deliver the physical intervention, and this needs to be refreshed on an annual basis.
Does the course fee include the SIA Licence application fee?
The course fee does not include the licence fee.
